Finally brought Luke for a hair cut. This is his FIRST haircut since birth. Wanted to make it a pleasant experience for him, so brought him to a salon for kids. It was so classy, with individual flat screen TV monitor, play station and lots of toys. Was an expensive hair cut, but I must say that the hair stylist, Stephanie, was really very good and experienced. She was very fast with her snipping and still played with Luke at the same time just to distract him. Worth it!

Brought Jin Yan and Luke to Gallop Stable today. Wanted to show Luke 'real' horse as he always smiles whenever I show him the picture of a horse and he'll do the 'galloping' action, as in move up and down with his body. Chin Wei's fault! Whenever she carries him she'll tell him "ride horse, ride horse, che-ko, che-ko!" That's also the reason why he loves her so much and wants her to carry all the time. Anyway, when i introduced him to the 'real' thing, he didn't seem that excited (maybe because they really stink and lots of flies flying around their eyes, mouth! Yucks!). Jin Yan went for a horse ride, $10 for one round!! So expensive! It was a SMALL round, I'd say it took about 3 min!? Nevertheless he still enjoyed it, so that's good. Went for an ice-cream at Mac after that, I looked kind of greedy eating an ice-cream with one hand and a baby on the other.
Jin Yan took the pictures for us. Wrong angle lah! Made me look so fat! Look at that arm!!

Luke's first Christmas present. Yup, a little early, but it's OK, at least Luke can get to wear it earlier. Yin Ping bought the pair of sneakers for him from Osh Kosh. Really cute! It's a shame he can't walk yet, but hope this will motivate him to walk...or run! :)
Luke loves riding in this car, not that he can really ride, I need to push him from behind. He loves 'travelling' around the house. It's looking around the house from a different perspective that amuses him, I guess. Thanks Michelle for the 'car'! He loves sitting at his 'reading corner to read all his favourite books too. Thanks Meng Ling and Chin Wei for passing him all the books. Sorry, Jin Yan, I know some are your favourite books, I'm sure Luke will take care of them (I hope!)

Went to the Biennale yesterday. Was difficult to view the works with Luke. He has short attention span and couldn't appreciate any of the works. The only 2 works which 'caught' abit of his attention was this 'Maggot' piece, which I reckon he didn't like cause he was making this funny sound with his mouth like a 'spitting' sound! It was kind of embarrassing when someone who was admiring at the artwork actually turned and stared at him (or us!). The other piece was this video work with a 'clacking' sound and my dear friend imitated the sound with much amusement. We didn't manage to visit all the exhibits cause we needed to find a place to feed him, pat him to sleep, feed him again! Disruptive! It was so different from the last time we saw the Biennale, we had more time to see the artworks and to really go around the different places within 2 days. It's more difficult now when you have a child who is too young to appreciate anything and carrying a 7kg and walking up and down is no joke. Nevertheless, we enjoyed most of the works at city hall. We thought it was better than the last.

Photo album which my cell group gave me. After I put in the photos I realised that Luke had tubes for most part of his first year. Poor boy! But thank God that Luke was still cheerful during those months, he was always smiling despite the pain and discomfort. Mummy's and daddy's brave little fighter! We shared about our experience and thanked our family and friends who have supported us in so many ways during the year. God has really blessed us be sending them to be part of our lives and walking through the journey with us. Big thank you to the following people: Nurses and staff of NICU and SCN in KK Hospital, especially to Sister Choo who was always there for me, Sister Rahimah and Michelle for preparing us for homecare.

My dearest nieces and nephews for your prayers and support. Big thanks to Jin Yan for your faith in our Lord Jesus and praying fervently for Luke. Thank you, Josiah, for your prayers too. I remember there was one night when Luke's SpO2 was dropping and I had to turn on the oxygen for him, you and Jin Yan immediately sat next to the monitor and prayed till his reading went up. Thank you so much! Thank you Caleb for praying and asking God to give Luke courage and let him be brave when he had to go for his operation in his 3rd week. Thank you Isaac, Jie Yu, Min Ai and Esther for doting on Luke and always playing with him.
Chin Wei, Meng Ling, Vincent and Moo Yong for being there for us and praying with us.
Chee Kang for buying stuff for Luke whenever you go overseas, especially his very first 'gai gai' shirt!

It was luke's 1st birthday on 1st Nov. Instead of celebrating with the usual cakes and presents, we wanted something more meaningful. We sat down and thought about the year that had passed and was reminded of how God has walked us through the year with His blessings and mercy, so we decided to have a Thanksgiving Celebration on the 2nd Nov. We wanted to thank God for His mercy and goodness and for blessing us with family and friends who supported us throughout the year.
