Today is Shi han's BIG day. She looked so pretty that Luke didn't recognise her. Usually he would look at her and smiled and waved his hands, but today he just stared at her. I told her it's the spectacles that's missing, that's why. :) I know Shi han would kill me if she realises that I post her pictures up because she knows that Shangyi and Seow Ling do visit my blog. So, please, please, please, if you two see this, DON'T tell anyone else, if any of the ex-AEP students find out, Ms Hew will kill me! :)

Went to the zoo today with Chin Wei, Isaac, Josiah, Caleb, Martha and her two boys, Josiah and Joshua. I've never liked going to the zoo, the thought of the heat, sweat and smell of the animals just puts me off. But now with Luke, I guess it will be one of the MUST place to visit every holiday! Anyway, Luke already know the monkeys, giraffes, elephant, hippo, zebras and lions from his books and DVD, so I thought I'd better take him to see the 'real' thing! Thank God the weather wasn't too bad this morning, but just before we wanted to go home it started to pour, so didn't get to see some of the animals as planned. Neverthess, Luke had a great time (I think) and was so tired after the trip that he slept in the car for half an hour, and slept again after his dinner.

Yesterday was the Standard Chartered Marathon. The boys signed up for Kids Dash and so I decided to bring Luke there to give them support. As usual, I had to find a place to feed him first before I proceed to the Esplanade. Made a mistake by going to City Hall. The whole mall and the fastfood places were packed with people in blue sports T and they all smell of perspiration. Anyway, after feeding Luke, we missed the boys' race! Chin Wei said he didn't want to run and she ended up having to run with him for half the distance. Funny! Went for a meal and did some shopping after that. Luke enjoyed the day with his cousins, as usual.

Isaac, Caleb, Luke and Josiah
Luke loves playing with his cousins. Whenever the boys come over, he gets really excited and would jump and yak non-stop, as if talking to them in great excitement, though no one knows what he's talking about. When the boys play among themselves, he would look at them intensely as if 'absorbing' all their actions and processing in his mind. I think he'll be more active and mischievious than the boys when he starts to walk and talk... ...

Haven't been able to update for a while. Luke was not well again. This time is worse cos he refused to eat. Initially I thought he was being naughty and refused to open his mouth, so I half coaxed, half tricked and half forced him to eat. After a few days it got worse, he didn't even want his milk and would vomit after breakfast. My maid thought it was because of her comments a week earlier that Luke was getting very heavy and chubby and so as the Chinese would say 'bang tang', and so he suddenly didn't want food. After 4 days with very little food intake, he vomitted an hr after every feed. Got worried so sent him to KK hospital, A&E. Diagnosed with viral gastritis, something like gastric flu, and was told not to give him any solids for a while (as if he wants it in the first place!) Well, a total of 1 week without food for Luke! Thank God he was still very alert and active and drank lots of water. So I gave him glucose instead for those days. When Luke was well enough, he automatically opened his mouth for food. It's really quite amazing how babies know their bodies better than us. We adults were the ones who thinks that he might be hungry and wants him to eat, but he knows that his stomach cannot take it. Sigh, so much to learn from babies... :) Luke has also lost weight during the week. His cheeks no longer chubby. Need to take some time to pump him up with calories again!
