Haven't been able to update for a while. Luke was not well again. This time is worse cos he refused to eat. Initially I thought he was being naughty and refused to open his mouth, so I half coaxed, half tricked and half forced him to eat. After a few days it got worse, he didn't even want his milk and would vomit after breakfast. My maid thought it was because of her comments a week earlier that Luke was getting very heavy and chubby and so as the Chinese would say 'bang tang', and so he suddenly didn't want food. After 4 days with very little food intake, he vomitted an hr after every feed. Got worried so sent him to KK hospital, A&E. Diagnosed with viral gastritis, something like gastric flu, and was told not to give him any solids for a while (as if he wants it in the first place!) Well, a total of 1 week without food for Luke! Thank God he was still very alert and active and drank lots of water. So I gave him glucose instead for those days. When Luke was well enough, he automatically opened his mouth for food. It's really quite amazing how babies know their bodies better than us. We adults were the ones who thinks that he might be hungry and wants him to eat, but he knows that his stomach cannot take it. Sigh, so much to learn from babies... :) Luke has also lost weight during the week. His cheeks no longer chubby. Need to take some time to pump him up with calories again!
